WFMC IN-PERSON SERVICE PLAN - AUGUST 28, 2020
Back in March 2020 when the Covid restrictions began, our leadership team came up with the temporary plan of a weekly live-streamed online Sunday morning service. Unfortunately, it is looking like we will be living with Covid restrictions for an indefinite amount of time.
The Board and Pastors met to discuss the future of our in-person gatherings as a church body. Much prayer, discernment, and discussion resulted in two directive motions being given to the Lead Pastors:
Motion 1: “The Board is instructing the pastors to do their best to follow the requirements and guidelines set out by government officials. “
Motion 2: “The Board is instructing the pastors to conduct a phased in approach to our gatherings together and to examine all possible options.”
The Lead Pastors were tasked with implementing these motions and leading our church forward so that we can resume in-person gatherings in a safe and responsible way.
We plan on having three Phases to ‘re-opening’ our in-person services (we don’t have any dates yet on when Phase 2 and 3 would be rolling out exactly):
PHASE 1: Socially distanced seating, immediate family groups only, no children’s ministry – begins September 13. Live-streaming of the 11:00 Sunday Service will continue, though it will look different with an in-person service.
PHASE 2: Socially distanced seating, registered cohort groups can sit together, no children’s ministry.
PHASE 3: Add children’s ministry programming (format TBD)
Service registration will be very important for ensuring we have an accurate record of our attendance (we are required to keep these records in case we need to assist in contact tracing). This will also be very important to ensure we do not exceed our capacity and have to turn people away.
We are going to need your help. Our church has never been in this unique situation before, and so our leadership team is counting on all of you to help us succeed. Some ways you can help:
We want to thank you for your patience and your grace as we try and move forward together in a safe and responsible way. We know this isn’t going to be easy, and that things will likely get messy. We are going to try things that won’t work, and we are going to make mistakes along the way. We believe that as long as we keep the goal of loving Jesus together in front of us, nothing can keep us from loving God and loving one another (Matthew 22: 37-40).
Sincerely,
Pastor Ian and Pastor Jody

We are going to need your help. Our church has never been in this unique situation before, and so our leadership team is counting on all of you to help us succeed. Some ways you can help:
- Please register HERE (Registrations will go live September 4) so we know which services you plan to attend. If a service is getting full, please consider an alternative service time so that we do not exceed the capacity of our sanctuary.
- Please send feedback, ideas, and suggestions to the Lead Pastors. If you have an idea on how we could do something better, if you noticed a restriction or regulation we missed, or if you have an opinion on what we should do in the future, please call, text, or email either Pastor Ian or Pastor Jody (full contact info on our website). We need to hear from you!
We want to thank you for your patience and your grace as we try and move forward together in a safe and responsible way. We know this isn’t going to be easy, and that things will likely get messy.
